The Network is your connection to the Quad Cities' quality of
life for everyone under 40!
The Network is a growing network of
Iowa
and
Illinois
Quad
City
residents in their 20's and 30's from all backgrounds,
professions, and lifestyles.
As
a program focused on the retention of young people to
our community, the i-network program will
introduce college students to Quad Cities quality of
life beyond the four walls of their workplace. As
a program for YPs, created by YPs, this initiative will
expose them socially and professionally to the
possibilities that life in our community offer.
Beyond
discovery of the good restaurants and cool places to
live, our program is designed to provide interaction not
only amongst other interns but with other like-minded
people in the community. They’ll be invited to
social networking events to promote the development of
friendships. They’ll attend professional
development luncheons designed specifically around their
interests and concerns. They’ll be exposed to a
variety of companies and organizations offering
different cultural atmospheres and employment
opportunities. They’ll be engaged in community
and governmental issues, and volunteer opportunities
alongside other young professionals who are living and
raising families here. Overall
Program Goal:
In
general terms it is our goal to see an increase in the
thickness and depth of the roots that our interns
establish in the community, and ultimately increase
their likelihood of returning for permanent employment
